Calling Out To You

Justin February 3, 2026

Lyrics

God I'm calling out in faith to You For I know that You can And I know that You do

God I’m trusting in Your promise still For I know that You have And I know that You will

God you’re higher than all gods by far For I know that You were And I know that You are

God You are enthroned so I won’t fear For I know that You’re there And I know that You’re near

You’re near to me, even when I don’t feel it You’re near to me, you are (Repeat)

Cause you have always been, you always are You are the great I am (Repeat)

(So God) I’m calling out to you, in faith Cause I know you hear me, my God I’m calling out to you, in faith Cause I know you hear me, my God

Your name is above all other names Your name is Jesus, my God

(Repeat 2x)

Song story

The first part of the song was written to be an encouragement to pray. God can and does answer prayer. God’s promises are trustworthy and you can trust them forever. Our God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is higher than all other gods and has all power and authority. He’s eternally the great “I AM”. He’s enthroned above as our Father in Heaven so He rules from afar, but He’s also with us till the end of the age. He dwells within His children. Pray to Him!

The second part was not at all planned. After starting to create this song in my shop, I had a rare moment. These lyrics just started flowing unlike any other time I’d remembered. They effortlessly came to mind and I couldn’t ignore them. That part of the song seemed to nearly write itself. Its messages are clear:

God is near to His children even when we don’t feel His presence, and sometimes we don’t. He hasn’t abandoned us. He’s doing something we don’t understand at the time.

He’s the great “I AM” who was and is and is to come. He’s worthy of calling out to. He answers prayers and loves His children. I felt led to proclaim the name of Jesus as the name above all names.

I hope many will join in worshipping Him with this song, and will be encouraged to pray with faith and expectancy.
